The coastal salt-air problem.
Bunbury sits on a peninsula between the Indian Ocean, Koombana Bay and the Leschenault Estuary. That salt-laden air is brutal on antenna hardware. Cheap aluminium elements and unsealed F-connectors corrode within two or three years, especially in beachside Dalyellup, the estuary edge of Australind and the bay-facing streets of the Bunbury CBD. We fit marine-grade antennas with stainless fixings and fully weatherproofed, gel-filled connections so the install survives the climate it lives in.
Reception shadows and the Mount Lennard signal.
Bunbury’s digital television comes mainly from the Mount Lennard transmitter. It is a solid signal across most of the City of Bunbury, but homes shadowed by the Darling Scarp, set among the tall tuart and peppermint cover toward Gelorup, or tucked behind the rise at Withers can sit in a weaker fringe pocket. The fix is not a bigger random antenna off a shelf, it is the correct gain, the correct aim, and a clean masthead amplifier where the path warrants one. We carry phased-array and high-gain Yagi antennas for exactly these blocks.
Compliant, tidy, work-at-height-safe installs.
Every install is done to AS 1417 for the antenna and masthead, AS/CA S008 for the wiring, with proper earthing and quad-shield RG6 coax rated for the WA UV load. Rooftop work follows the WA work-at-height rules. A lot of handyman installs skip the earthing and use builder-grade RG59 that loses signal over a long run. We do it once, properly, and leave the roof and the wall plate neat.
Where we work.
We cover the City of Bunbury and the surrounding South West coast. Coastal estates like Dalyellup and the estuary side of Australind get our salt-rated hardware as standard.
